Tuesday night was our favorite night - Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom! All of our friends who have been told us it was worth the extra expense & we figured we would never be at Disney again during Halloween, so why not?! The park closed at 7:00 to the general public & it remained open until midnight for the party. One of my favorite things about it? The lack of people! It was still crowded, but it was the least crowded park we went to all week. Of course the park was decorated, but they played Halloween music & had lighting & special effects all night to help set the scene:
I grabbed a spot for the Halloween parade & sat there for about an hour while Bryan took the girls to ride rides & trick or treat. There was hardly a wait for any of the rides & Sadie had been wanting to ride the race cars with her daddy:
They also had pumpkin stations set up throughout the park where the kids got to trick or treat. We came home with so much candy it was ridiculous:
And it wasn't the cheap stuff - it was the good stuff! They finally came to meet me on the parade route & we might have eaten a lot of candy while we waited:
We got a perfect spot where the kids could sit on the curb while we stood behind them. A photographer came by at one point & asked if she could take a picture of Sadie in front of the castle:
Look at that diva pose! I love it with the castle in the background. She actually already had 2 Elsa dresses but that's what she wanted to be for Halloween so we surprised her with a new dress for the trip. You can't really tell from the pictures, but her dress lit up in the front & in the back inside her cape. It was beautiful & she got a lot of compliments.
I couldn't help but get a family picture of us during the parade:
The parade was fun but it wasn't your typical electric parade like normal. All of the characters were dressed up for Halloween & they had a lot of the villains in it.
After the parade, we decided to check on Elsa & Anna again. We were hoping it wouldn't take long to see them since the park wasn't crowded & we were right - it only took 15 minutes! Totally worth it to get these pictures:
You can tell that Sadie finally warmed up & wasn't as shy the second time around!
Before we left the park, we stayed for the Halloween fireworks. Some time while we were watching them, Bryan caught a moment with Sadie & I screaming:
I think we were screaming to a Michael Jackson song :)
And I was lucky enough to catch the 3 of them enjoying the fireworks:
It truly was a magical evening! I don't think the girls went to bed until almost midnight & they were awesome. We aren't over the top crazy about Halloween like some of our friends & neighbors are, but it was totally worth going to this party. Something about celebrating the holidays in a special way makes it seem much more fun!
