We had two friends invite us to the same place today, Grisham Farms. I had never heard of it because it is a private farm/petting zoo that is only available for private parties & it's about 30 minutes from our house. Today was "open barn" & the entire farm was open this morning for kids. As soon as we got there, they found the cups of food & went to feed the animals:
I never gave Sophie any food because she probably would have eaten it :( But she was content just walking around the cup. They did have pigs that just roamed the property & she did try to pet them a few times:
Then we went to the barn for an animal demonstration. They brought out several small animals (rabbit, hedgehog, lizard, snake) talked about what they eat & let the children pet them:
Sadie was so brave & she touched everything, including the snake! She even made me take a picture of her touching the snake because she was so proud of herself:
They also had toys, cars, a swing set, a trampoline, sandbox, etc. that they had fun playing on:
The girls even climbed into a tree house, which Sadie thought was pretty cool since she had never done that before:
And when they finally slowed down, we had a picnic lunch:
The girls loved it, I personally thought it was too hot & dirty out there :) Today's high is 102 & it felt like it was already that hot. I'm sure we will come back here some time, but next time we'll come in the fall when it's cooler!
