Aruba by Day 2015

Ok, now that I have posted our few excursions, now I can post the fun stuff - all of our pictures from the pool & the beach! Thank goodness our phones have such great cameras now, because that is where all of my pictures come from. I don't even have a regular camera anymore. At the same time, I can't believe I didn't drop my phone in the water because I was pretty daring with it!
We went straight to the beach every morning. Sadie usually wanted to go to the pool, but I kept telling her that we have a pool at home. She likes the ocean & the sand, but she isn't crazy about getting dirty :) So here we go - a ton of pictures from my daily photo shoots at Palm Beach:

Look at these divas! They looked so cute every day in all of their bathing suits. My favorite might have been this day:

I usually don't buy the girls matching outfits because I prefer them to compliment each other instead, but I found these suits on sale & couldn't resist! I got a ton of cute pictures but couldn't get Sophie to cooperate most of the time :)

I have always wanted to get this shot:

Love the picture, but we'll have to do it again sometime. First of all, Bryan's back is totally sunburned :( Second, I'm not crazy about the water in this picture. It looks kind of hazy & not as blue as it was.

But let me tell you about the water - it was phenomenal! We could walk out 100 yards & Sadie could still touch. Perfect for children. Shallow & crystal clear with no waves so kids loved it. Sadie just walked everywhere she wanted to go by herself & we carried Sophie around. But we also did a lot of water activities. The resort had floats:

Bryan took the girls kayaking:

And I took the girls paddle boarding:

Like I said, it was so shallow that we weren't hesitant to take them anywhere because Sadie could touch every where we went. Our last day there was July 3 & since it was a holiday weekend & we were at a mostly American resort, everyone celebrated Independence Day, my girls included:

My mom bought them those adorable sunglasses & Sadie has not stopped wearing hers since then:

We ended our time at the beach triumphantly when Sadie found a starfish:

She was so proud of it & wasn't afraid to hold it at all. She thought it was like a sea shell, & we collected probably a hundred of those as souvenirs! That's my favorite hobby now - collecting sea shells with my girls. We have a huge jar at home on the back porch of all the shells we have collected from every where we have traveled.

After a few hours at the beach, we finally consented & headed towards the family pool. But I'm not gonna lie, the view from the pool wasn't too shabby:

The only frustrating part of the pool was our friendly neighbors:

I have never seen so many iguanas in my life. They were different sizes & colors and they were not afraid of us at all. They loved us even more when we had food!

The girls met a lot of friends this week, especially Sadie. She met a couple of kids her age, but they mostly played in the shallow end & had floaties on, so she preferred to hang out with the older kids in the deeper end:

These girls were so nice & let Sadie hang with them the entire time. She even learned a lot by watching them. After a couple of days there, she learned how to do a hand stand, a front flip & a back flip! She even met a little boy, Max, who is from New York who she called her boyfriend:

Bryan & I had never heard her say that before! He was 6 & their other friend, Alexandra was 7 & she is from Delaware.

Sophie on the other hand took it easier & played in the shallow end:

She even met a couple of friends her age too:

The family pool was beach entry with a couple of water sprays so it was perfect for her. By the end of the week, she was entirely too brave & would just keep on walking as far as she could until it got deep enough her head was under water & it wouldn't even phase her! She really does love the water & we practiced her swimming skills quite a bit, but she still doesn't know what she is doing! I think it's frustrating but she just smiles & everyone else seemed to be impressed with how comfortable she was in the water.

Their favorite part of the day was at 3:00 - popsicle time:

They passed them out to everyone for free & let's just say my children have never had so many popsicles in their life but they loved it! Actually, my girls love food in general. We would usually take a break from the water to eat lunch because it was easier to feed Sophie in a high chair & Sadie wouldn't eat too much because she was too busy watching the other kids playing. Sophie on the other hand did not let anything go to waste, especially her mac & cheese:

All in all, every day was perfect because our family loves being outside by the water. I'm curious to see how Disney World compares because right now, if you ask Sadie, she will tell you that the beach is her favorite place on Earth :)
