We missed the summer movie clubhouse the past 2 weeks because we were traveling & at VBS but since we had a normal week, we finally made our first trip back to Cinemark. It is still one of the best deals in town - $1 movies! It's too hot to do anything outside (besides swimming) & you can't find much else to do for only $1. Today's movie was Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which we saw last year, but it's not one we own so Sadie enjoyed seeing it again.
I was really hesitant how Sophie would do since she is my busy body, but she completely surprised me. She stayed either in my lap or in her booster seat from 9:15 - 10:45. Can you believe it?! Must have been the big screen because she was mesmerized :) It also helped that I brought food:
Since my girls don't get up early, I was able to hold off breakfast until we got there. Sadie was a little disappointed that she didn't get popcorn, but at least the banana, breakfast bar & cheerios were free & they kept them entertained:
This is the view of Sophie while she was sitting in my lap. Whenever I tried to take a picture of her sitting in the booster seat, she kept turning & looking at me instead of the movie because she saw the flash. So I got a good picture of her shoving her face which is typical of her:
When she started getting antsy, I let her crawl on the stairs. Probably not the most sanitary place for her to play, but it helped that we got seats on the end so Sadie could continue watching the movie while I played with Sophie. Honestly, I expected her to run around the theater the entire time but she pleasantly surprised me. Who knew she would be more difficult outside at a splash park instead of inside at movie theater? Looks like our practice run was successful so I see many more trips to the summer movie clubhouse this summer :)
