Most of you probably know I am super organized & a bit obsessive compulsive. Honestly, I don't know where it comes from - I think I was just born this way & I can't help it. My husband hates it because it also makes me a minimalist. I am the queen at selling or donating things because I hate to have extra stuff around the house. Except for my holiday decorations. I have way too much of it & I am completely aware, but at least it is organized.
I realized last week that I don't think I have ever shared my holiday closet. We have a big closet in our living room which is built under our staircase & it is my favorite closet it in the house. No one goes in there except for me :) I actually worked in there last week when I took down our Easter decorations. I am ashamed to admit that our Easter collection grew this year & I could no longer fit everything into one container. I have to thank my Mom for this because she passed on some of her decorations & they were too cute to pass up. Thanks Mom! And I feel like our supply of plastic Easter eggs are never ending - seriously, what are we going to do with that many eggs?!
All of that to say that I realized when I added the new container that I am running out of room:
I officially have 18 containers & most of them are color coded for the holiday:
Now I do have a few extra things in here like our card table & chairs, our vacuum, & tv trays, but everything else is holiday related:
I even tried to maximize the space by hanging what I can on the wall:
Most of it are door hangers & wreaths. Although I do have the big bows from our Christmas tree hanging also. I also have my holiday countdown calendars hanging on hangers:
And those are my Christmas tree skirts hanging as well. There is one small shelf above the hanging rod where I store all of our small Christmas trees:
I know to most of you, this might seem crazy, but I love it. I love the organization & love the holidays! This is why I could never downsize & move to the city like my husband wanted - I barely have room for anything else & I cannot imagine getting rid of any of this. Luckily I have 2 girls & right now Sadie is really into the holidays & all of my decorations, so hopefully they will appreciate this closet as much as I do.
