You probably think I am talking about the ice storm that we are experiencing right now, but I am actually talking about the theme of the Daddy Daughter Dance, Snowflakes & Sparkles. I have always heard about the dance because it is a pretty big deal here in Frisco, but Sadie was too young to go. We were actually planning on waiting until next year, but a few days before, one of our friends invited them so we scrambled at the last minute & made plans. I knew it was a good sign when I found a random dress on the 65% off clearance rack at Dillard's! And it just happened to be Sadie's size:
We already had black tights, black shoes, matching bow & the black jacket came with the dress. Perfect! Sadie was so excited because we went a little farther in pampering her. Not only did she have her fresh mani & pedi, but we also let her wear some of her jewelry & I put a little bit of make up on her :)
I was trying to get a picture outside since it was a beautiful day, but Bryan said it was too bright so he made me take one inside as well:
Those were the only pictures I took. The rest are from Bryan. Apparently I have him trained because I like to see pictures myself, but he also knows I want to post a blog on it!
As soon as they got to the dance, they met up with Sidney & Tripp:
Sadie couldn't hit up the dance floor until she had a sno-cone:
After that, she tore up the dance floor - literally, Bryan had videos of her dancing like crazy. She looked so cute & you can tell she had a good time!
After the dance, Bryan treated her to dinner. He asked her where she wanted to go & of course she said "Chick Fil A!". Once he explained that he wanted to go to a different restaurant, she chose steak:
Sorry boys, my daughter is spoiled already. What can I say, Bryan & I are foodies & apparently that has influenced our children. Dinner started with a toast:
and ended with dessert:
I'm not gonna lie, I was a little sad sitting at home with Sophie while they were off having fun without me. And I know in the future, Sophie will be with them & then I will be by myself :( But I am so glad my daughters have a special relationship with their father & I am glad they have time to be together without me:
