There is this mega church in Plano called Prestonwood Baptist that puts on a huge Christmas show every year:
I have always heard about it, but we had never been. Our neighbors go to church there & her daughters always perform in the show, so she finally talked us in to getting tickets this year. Luckily I went online really early the morning they went on sale because I think they sale out & were expecting over 50,000 people to come during their week performance.
As soon as we got there, Sadie wanted to take her picture with the nativity scene. She is obsessed with baby Jesus right now. She made a baby Jesus doll at school & she brought him home in a manger & she has slept with both of them every night:
We made the mistake of telling her that she show was about the birth of Jesus so she spent the entire time asking "Where Jesus at?" The first half of the show was more of a Christmas musical which Bryan & I really liked. Lots of fun costumes, singing & dancing. After 1 1/2 hours, they finally had intermission. Sadie did pretty good for the first hour, then she started getting bored. But she was really excited during the break because our neighbor Kennedy came out to see Sadie with her friends:
She had been talking about Kennedy the entire time, but as soon as she came out, she got shy.
Finally, the second half of the show was the live nativity & Sadie was mesmerized. She got to see real animals including camels, zebra, donkeys & sheep. And then she saw baby Jesus. Hallelujah! Afterwards, we met up with Kennedy again for one more photo op:
If anyone is interested in the show, I would definitely recommend it. It was longer than I anticipated, but it was better than I imagined. The set & costumes were amazing but to see the live nativity really puts things into perspective, especially this time of year. So grateful to have shared this evening with my husband & my daughter!
