Frosty the Snowman

Our Christmas festivities kicked off last when Bryan took a couple of weeks off from work. We had been wanting to go see the:

Ice Exhibit at the Gaylord Texan. We went several years ago with Bryan's family before Sadie was born but we haven't been since. This year's theme was:

and I knew Sadie would love it because she had already watched the movie. As soon as we walked inside she was beaming & found her way into an igloo:

For those who don't know about this, it is a whole exhibit of ice sculptures where you walk from one room to the next. The temperature is kept at 9 degrees & they pass out these big blue jackets for everyone to wear, but we brought our own hats & gloves:

Everything in there is literally made of ice - it's really pretty cool! But our favorite part was the ice slides. Sadie was a little hesitant, so I told her I would go first:

After she saw me go, she ran right up there:

And then she went several times again after that :)

After we left the ICE exhibit, we saw Frosty again, although this time he wasn't made of ice. He was dancing to Christmas music & Sadie might have been to shy to go up & take a picture with him, but she put on a good show for the rest of us dancing her little heart out:

It was hilarious! Even all the other kids just kind of sat there & watched her. Once we finally dragged her away from the dance floor, we spent some time walking around the hotel. The decorations are truly beautiful & she was obsessed with this huge Santa hat. She kept wanting to take her picture inside it:

She also saw Santa & got to sit in his lap but they wouldn't let me take any pictures unless I wanted to buy the ones they were taking. No thanks. But did find Santa's sleigh parked somewhere else so we took another family pic instead:

Thank goodness we decided to go on Friday before the kids got out of school because it was actually kind of peaceful. Sophie didn't really know what was going on but Sadie had a blast, so I am glad we were able to do something new with her, especially since she is enjoying the holidays so much this year. And thanks Grammy & Grandpa for joining us - can't wait to see what next year's theme will be!
