Black Thursday?!

I have never really participated in black Friday. I tend to do most of my shopping early & honestly, if you use coupons & watch the sales, you can always get good deals early on so it's not worth fighting the crowds on Thanksgiving weekend. That was my philosophy until I had kids! I still feel that way for small items & clothes, but not for larger, more expensive items. We had a certain gift in mind that we wanted to get the girls for their birthday. After tons of research, I realized that this item was made exclusively for Toys R Us. I literally had the item pulled up on the internet on my iPhone & would refresh it every single morning. I have only seen it go on sale twice & it was only for $50 less. Finally 2 weeks ago, I realized that the Black Friday ads were already posted online & there she was - the item I had been watching. It was going to be on sale Thursday night from 5:00 - 8:00 but it was not available in the store & they had limited quantities available. So I did what any crazy mom would do on Thanksgiving:

 

 

I left our family while they enjoyed food & football & snuck up to the store. I got there at 4:45 & the line was already down the front of the store outside all the way to the end of the building. And they opened the doors 10 minutes early so technically I was late. I literally ran through the store (I am not exaggerating - I literally ran because everyone else was!) all the way to the back to pick up the ticket & then I had to go back to the front to check out. I have to admit I was impressed. They had everything roped off & employees in place to handle the craziness. I finally checked out & was ecstatic because I saved $150!

 

 

Totally worth the trip. I was a little hesitant when the box almost wouldn't fit in my mother-in-law's suv, but eventually we made it work & got it back to our house without the girls seeing it. Any guesses what it is? I will give you a few clues because Bryan put it together last night:
