A few years ago when Bryan & I were watching House Hunters International on HGTV, we watched a family buy a second home on an island somewhere. I remember at the end when they visited the family in their new beach house, the mom had framed some of the kids bathing suits as art. I thought it was a great idea & have saved it for years. Now that we finally have our pool finished, I knew it was the first thing I wanted to do - add a piece of art to the back patio that was personal to our family. And something I had never seen before at someone else's house:
We took Sadie to Turks & Caicos when she was 4 months old & 2 years later we took Sophie when she was 2 months old. We took both of them to the same beach for their first vacation & both of them wore the same bathing suits, so it was kind of sentimental to me. I wanted to keep them & now I think it is only fitting that they are hanging up at our house:
A good piece of art leads to great conversation, right? I used the same guy to frame these who has done several pieces in our house & he said this was the strangest request he has ever had! But I love it & I think it goes with our tropical theme perfectly :) Hopefully the girls will enjoy looking at them when they grow older.
