Trick or Treating with the Cupcake Cuties

For Sadie's first Halloween, she was a cupcake so of course we passed her costume down & Sophie was a cupcake this year. I knew this was probably my last year to have a say in what Sadie wore & since it was our first Halloween with both of the girls, I kind of wanted them matching. Since the cupcake kind of looked like it was for babies, I found something perfect for Sadie - she was a cupcake princess!

I was trying to get the perfect picture of them with their treat bags before Sadie's hair got messed up & she got pizza on her costume, but we had just woken them up from naps & they weren't quite ready to smile. Eventually they warmed up:

I mean look at this little cupcake cutie - isn't she adorable?!

Our annual tradition is to walk one street over where we meet all of our friends & neighbors for a block party.

They order pizza & everyone brings snacks so we get to eat & visit while the kids run around. Sadie took the eating part very seriously - guess she had to fuel up for her big night!

While we were there, we got someone to take a family picture since it was our first Halloween together:

And we took the obligatory group photo of all of the kids:

Then it was off to trick or treat! Sophie got to go for about 30 minutes & then she got fussy since she was tired & it was cold, so she went to bed around 8:00:

Bryan took the girls first while I stayed at home & passed out candy. But when he came home to put Sophie down, we switched & I took Sadie out:

We had an awesome night! Our neighborhood is the best & we have such a great time hanging out with all of our friends & neighbors. Sadie was really into it this year & kept telling everyone "Happy Halloween!" or "Trick or Treat!". She really understood everything & tried to keep up with the big kids, but at the same time, she would always stop & wait for us & never wanted to get too far away from us. She did tell us to wait by the sidewalk though because she wanted to go up & get candy all by herself :) Little miss independent!

We finally got Sadie inside around 9:30 & down for bed. After that, Bryan & I enjoyed a late night Halloween treat:

We didn't have time to have dessert at the party, so we brought it home. I can confidently say that our first Halloween as a family of four was a success & I couldn't be more proud of my cupcake cuties!
