Bryan had to go to Houston last week for business & since my parents live in that area, the girls & I thought we would tag along. Sadie was so excited to go to Mimi & Doc's house!
While we were there, we spent a lot of time outside, like we always do. My mom had a play mat that we would put on the back porch & Sophie would just roll around & play - she loved being outside!
And Sadie helped Doc in the yard by pulling weeds & feeding the squirrels:
and lounging in the hammock:
Of course after all that time spent outside, the girls had to be cleaned up, so we gave them their first bath together:
This is Sadie's old bath tub & it is a lot smaller than the one the hospital gave us for Sophie so they can actually fit in the tub together. Sadie loved bathing with her baby sister! Of course, she also loved the hairdo her Dad gave her too:
We also spent some time inside as well & Mimi spoiled these girls. She had the exersaucer ready for Sophie so she could have some play time:
She also bought new lawn chairs for the grand kids to sit in on the back porch, but Sadie thought they were perfect for watching tv inside. My Dad thought it would be cute to sit Sophie up in one of the chairs, but Sadie wasn't too thrilled about that. She's still not the best at sharing so she did not want to participate in our picture:
Sadie was very helpful in helping me feed Sophie. She gets so excited when she gets to help shake up the bottle or help give it to Sophie:
I couldn't help but laugh when I looked over at Sophie at dinner one night & her bow had fallen down. It looked like she was wearing a bow tie!
Sadie loved spending time with Mimi. She got to spend a little extra time with Mimi while Doc had to work & while he went golfing with Bryan. First Mimi gave her first candy necklace:
She didn't quite know what to do with it. The candy was a little hard.....
Mimi also painted her toe nails & gave her a tattoo!
She proudly showed off all of her new accessories for me:
My parents even got to babysit one night while Bryan & I drove into the city to meet some friends for dinner. Most of the time they see the kids we are with them, so they don't get to baby sit very often! Apparently, while they were babysitting, Sadie hijacked my Mom's drink & luckily it wasn't Dr. Pepper (which is usually is!). She got a big swig of ice cold tea:
And since we drove down late in the week, we got to stay for the weekend so we got to spend some time with Bryan also. This is one of my favorite moments that I captured while all of my loved ones were napping, Daisy included!
And some of my favorite pictures were right before we left their house on Sunday. The car was loaded but I couldn't get these kiddos off of the hammock!
And yes, I did go a little camera happy :)
We actually did a few more things including a trip to Galveston & we participated in Relay for Life, but those pictures are worthy of blog posts of their own, so check back tomorrow!
