You all know I love to work out & I go to they YMCA most mornings before the girls wake up. And obviously my husband has turned into a runner since I have blogged about his races lately. Sadie gets her exercise just by being a typical 2 year old - she runs everywhere she goes & that girl never slows down! But did you know I started exercising Sophie? Technically I have been doing stretches & baby sit ups with her for the past 2 months. They were all things that we learned with Sadie when she went to physical therapy. But in the past few weeks, we have started working on her core strength:
That's right - our little girl is learning how to sit up! You can tell she looks confused/tired in this picture because it was the first time I ever put her in the bumbo seat. It takes a lot of work to sit up when you have been lying down your whole life :) Granted, we only started for a minute or two, but now she can sit there for almost 10-15 minutes by herself. I love that it gets her off of her head & she enjoys sitting up & seeing everything. I know technically you aren't supposed to do this, but I love putting her on the middle of the kitchen island (don't worry - it is a big island & I am always there watching her!) while I am making lunch, cooking dinner or folding laundry.
It's also came in handy at other times, such as bath time:
Poor Sophie always hated Sadie's bath time because she was left out. Now she gets to sit in & watch the action!
Even Sadie loved it! She was so excited that Sophie was in the bathroom with her.
Guess we will continue our daily work outs & before you know it, she will be sitting all by herself, without being propped up. Then bath time will go to a whole other level for both girls!
