Sadie had a special date last weekend with her parents - we took her to the Shrine Circus! Bryan & I hadn't been to the circus since we were little kids, so it was fun to experience it again. I have to admit though, I thought it was kind of cheesy. I mean perfect for children, but I think I have been to one to many Cirque du Soleil shows because I expected more!
Sadie on the other hand thought it was fabulous, except for the clowns who scared her when we first got there:
She was fine with all of the animals & entertainers from a distance, but she didn't even want the stickers that these clowns were passing out because she was terrified!
We had another surprise for her when we got there because our friends The Hill family joined us:
Sadie was so excited to have her friends Byron & Tatum there! They sat diligently & watched all of the performers:
We even treated them to their favorite snack:
Popcorn! I love this picture because you can see the excitement & wonder in their eyes - especially Byron & Sadie!
We had a great time & we were lucky to be able to spend some one on one time with Sadie while Sophie got to spend some extra time with her Great-Nanny at home :) I thoroughly enjoy doing new things with Sadie because it is so joyful watching her experience everything for the first time!
By the way, you're technically not supposed to take pictures of the performance, but I was able to sneak a picture of the elephants just for your enjoyment:
