Fun in the Sun with Mimi

Another exciting thing about our trip was the extra visitor who met us there - Mimi! Bryan & I knew we would have to do a lot of work while we were there & that's is quite impossible with an infant & a toddler, so my mom came along to help us out. Somehow I didn't get any pictures of her our first day at the beach, but I did get several when we went to dinner that night. We had reservations at a beach front restaurant at sunset & I had all of us matching because I had envisioned this perfect family picture in front of the ocean while the sun set. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Poor Sophie had just woken up from her nap & was so hungry & I will admit that Sadie did great the entire trip, except for this night. She was a nightmare! Have I mentioned that I hate the terrible two's yet?

Anyway, here is our family picture which didn't turn out because the flash didn't work & it was getting dark outside:

But I did get a beautiful picture of sunset & lots of cute pictures of my Mom with the girls:

My poor mom hardly left the resort so we feel like she really didn't get to explore the island. Instead, she was stuck at the condo with the girls every afternoon. She was a huge help though when it came time to bathe, feed & get the girls down for naps. The hardest part was figuring out what to do with Sophie when she was there by herself with both of them. It is impossible to hold Sophie the entire time when you have to take care of Sadie & since we didn't have any our baby gadgets like we do at home, we had to be resourceful. Thankfully we discovered her car seat made a good distraction:

I kept telling my Mom - what did they do in the old days without boppy pillows, bumbo seats, bouncers, swings & play gyms? At home she gets rotated from one thing to the next :)

We did come home every night to pick them up for dinner, so I guess my Mom got to enjoy the restaurants. Our resort was in the middle of the tourist area so we were able to walk to dinner every night:

and we enjoyed some fabulous dishes!

And we may have stopped for ice cream a couple of nights:

There were actually several ice cream shops & I think we hit up all of them :) One of them even had a playground so we let Sadie run & around & have fun:

One morning Bryan went to some meetings without me so I could help my Mom take both of the girls back to the beach. Believe me, it's too hard to take both of them by yourself!

I was so excited to take pictures of the girls together & Sadie was thrilled being the big sister & getting to hold her little sister. Sophie, not so much!

Sweet Sadie tried to hug her & calm her down!

And here are a few more random pictures from the pool:

There were also hammocks hanging around the pool which Sadie took advantage of:

On a final note, besides ice cream, Sadie has really started enjoying her strawberry daiquiris! Virgin, of course!

I don't tend to order these at home, but I have to have one on a daily basis while we are lounging pool side or on the beach. Apparently, Sadie has taken notice & she refuses to share. What can I say - like mother/like daughter?!
