Our friends Mia & Carl invited us over last weekend for one last cook out in the backyard before it gets too cold this winter. The kids had a blast playing outside together but it didn't last for long because the sun is starting to set much earlier these days. Most of the kids seemed to fight over Jordan's electric car:
I mean who wants to be pushed around in a toy car or wagon when you can drive your own?! Sadie actually wasn't too interested in the car because she was so mesmerized by the trampoline & play set. After her ignorance to smiles the day before, I couldn't believe how much she was hamming it up for the camera this night!
Once the sun started to go down, it also got chilly outside, so we moved inside. The 3 kids who don't live there were in awe of Jordan's toys - isn't it amazing how new toys are so enticing?!
We finally sat down to eat & all of the kids ate at their own table. Everyone but Jordan or course - he was too busy doing his own thing.
The food was delicious! Carl did a fantastic job slow cooking the meat all day & Mia's cake was to die for, especially when she put that scoop of ice cream on top :) I'm glad we enjoyed a final summer cookout as we prepare for the holidays to come.
