Crashing Daddy's Business Trip....

Last week Bryan flew to San Francisco on Tuesday & then up North to Seattle on Wednesday. He has been traveling to Seattle for the past 6 or 7 years quite a bit & has met a lot of clients up there whom he considers friends. He has always liked Seattle & talked to me about it, but I never had the opportunity to go, until now. We figured that we may as well take advantage of Sadie flying free since we only have a few more months left, so we flew up on Wednesday night to spend a long weekend. On Thursday, Bryan worked, so Sadie & I set out to see the city on our own. Luckily, our hotel was right in downtown on the water, so we were within walking distance of most things. Unfortunately, that day was a typical "Seattle" day. It was really cloudy & misty with a light sprinkle all morning, so we spent the morning at the

At least we stayed dry inside & Bryan didn't miss much. He has been to Seattle more times than I can count, but he hasn't done any of the "tourist" things, so we saved all of that for him. I figured an aquarium is not much different than any other aquarium, so he didn't miss out.

Sadie & I enjoyed strolling around & looking at all of the sea life. It was crowded, but not nearly as crowded as our venture to the Dallas Aquarium last week. This aquarium is very different though - Dallas feels more like a rain forest & has huge exhibits, where as this one has a lot of smaller ones that are interactive. Sadie loved running around & looking at everything!

They had a sea life board for the kids to play with:

She got to touch & feel what a real octopus feels like:

She also got to touch a baby otter's coat:

And she even got to touch a live star fish in the water. She was afraid to touch them in the tank, so they put it in a little bowl for her:

I was quite surprised how daring she was!

Of course she made friends along the way at every exhibit:

We had a great day together & this was only the first day of our trip in a new city. I'll post again tomorrow with our activities with Dad. We explored Seattle in true tourist style!
