Last week, our sister-n-law flew in from Colorado with her 2 kids so Bryan's mom planned us a staycation here in Grapevine at
I am sure most of you have heard of it, but if not, it is an awesome resort that is very kid friendly. They have an indoor & outdoor water park, which is where we spent most of our time.
The first picture is the first thing you see when you walk into the hotel. The lobby is on the 2nd floor with a glass wall overlooking the indoor water park. The 2nd picture is the toddler area of the water park. The kids loves this area! The 3rd picture is the outdoor section. The tower in the middle sprays water every 5-10 minutes whenever the wolf howls! They also have a lot of really cute water slides, which Bryan & Jessica got to ride, but unfortunately, pregnant women were not allowed :( But I did get to jump into the lazy river & the wave pool.
We spent the majority of our time swimming & the kids had a blast!
Sadie & Braxton were so cute together! They are only 6 months apart so it is will be fun to watch them grow up together. They enjoyed chasing each other around our hotel room, bouncing on the beds & splashing each other in the water :)
We also celebrated Bryan's birthday while we were there. Instead of going out to eat, he decided that he wanted to order pizza & eat it out by the pool. He didn't want to waste time cleaning up & leaving the resort while there was so much to do there!
We actually rented a cabana for the day & it was worth every penny. The resort was so crowded that is was nice to have a home base where we could keep our stuff, take breaks, eat lunch, etc. It even came with a stocked refrigerator which we took full advantage of since it was so hot!
We ended every evening by going to story time. They have an area in the lobby with a clock tower & characters that come to life & put on a show every night:
After the show, they would read a story to the kids:
I have always heard about story time at Great Wolf Lodge & I have even seen pictures of friends in their pajamas at story time, however our kiddos literally crawled to story time from the pool, so they were still in their bathing suits:
Sadie is used to going to story time at the library in Frisco, so she jumped right up & sang, clapped & smiled her way through the performance:
It's safe to say that this staycation was a hit & we all enjoyed getting to spend some extra time together. Thanks Grammy & Grandpa for spoiling your grand kids!
