My favorite part of our Michigan trip, was the 4th of July holiday. We usually don't do much for the patriotic holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th & Labor Day) but this year it was fun celebrating with family. Saguatuck had a parade that afternoon that started at the high school. Since we were staying right by the high school (remember Kason & his love for the football field?) the parade ran down our street & in front of the house. Therefore we pulled our little red wagon & all of our beach chairs out to the front yard. It couldn't have been more perfect! I believe this was Sadie's first parade & she was a trooper. The gun shots nor the fire engine sirens bothered her!
Don't you love her outfit? I had that made before we went & of course I had to find the perfect bow to match! I have to say that all 3 kids looked pretty patriotic, especially since my Mom brought all of them mini flags to hold :)
I couldn't really get a good picture of all of the kids with the grandparents - there were too many distractions! But I did a few cute snapshots of Sadie & Kason in their wagon. This was another wonderful thing my Mom rented. They enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood!
Kason also had a GREAT time scooping up the candy! And some of the adults might have had a good time sneaking some behind his back!
All in all we had a great time at the parade & enjoyed our last day together.
That night we ended the trip by walking into town & watching the fireworks over the lake. Thanks Mimi for staying home with Max & Sadie while the rest of us left. It was the perfect ending to a nice, relaxing vacation with family.
