Beach Babe

Another fun adventure Sadie experienced while we were in Michigan was another trip to the beach. I mentioned that the town we stayed in was on the Kalamazoo River, but it feeds directly into Lake Michigan & for those who don't know, Lake Michigan is probably one of the best lakes I have ever been to! It almost looks like the ocean because it is so big & it has sand beaches. Luckily we know people that live there, so instead of going to the busy public beach, they told us about a place called Pier Cove that couldn't have been better. It was less crowded & there were little streams that ran through the sand perfect for Sadie & Kason to play in.

This was Kason & Max's first trip to the beach, so it was pretty exciting for them. Max couldn't stay long, but we had fun getting him out & taking pictures. My Mom rented a beach umbrella & a baby cabana for the kiddos to relax in:

Isn't Max adorable in his patriotic bathing suit?

Kason learned how to skip rocks over the water:

And he played in the sand with Sadie. Thank you Mimi for renting all those sand toys!

I am pretty sure the Clayton Crew had a good time at the beach even though we all came home sandy afterwards!

And my favorite part was watching Sadie. She has been to the beach several times, but this was the first time she was old enough & strong enough to sit up on her own. It was so cute watching her sit there by herself playing in the sand!

Of course after an hour or two of hard playing, she hit the cabana next. Good thing Max had already gone home because she took over that joint!
