Playtime!

Today Sadie & I tried our second Mommy & Me class at a different facility. Last time we went to My Gym in Frisco & I was kind of disappointed in the experience. I actually blogged about it in case you remember it...... This time we went to Gymboree in Plano & it was amazing!

First of all, they actually had experienced teachers, not teenagers running the place. Also, the class was for babies 6-10 months & everyone there was within the same age range. All of them could sit on their own unassisted & only 2 were crawling. Last time half of them were walking around & Sadie was totally out of place!

As you can see, the gym is full of color, swings, fun music, etc. We sat around in a circle & Sadie loved interacting with the other babies! It's the first time I have seen her get that excited & try to play with other kids. Today we practiced rocking - front to back & side to side. She did this on several different swings, rocking horses, etc. We also played with those big colorful parachutes (remember the ones we played with when we were little?) & I think that may have been her favorite part. We wrapped her up in it & swung her back & forth like a hammock. Then we laid the babies on the floor while the parents brought the parachute up & down over them. She just giggled! To end class we played with bubbles, which helps them track with their eyes. I think that may have been her first experience with bubbles & she was quite amazed so we may have to buy some for the house!

All in all Gymboree was a great place & I would totally recommend it! There were actually 2 Dads in class with us, so hopefully next time I take her, Bryan will come along. He would have loved seeing her in action today!
