Atlantis

Last week we went on vacation with all 4 grandparents & Sadie got another stamp in her passport. That girl is a frequent flyer already! We flew to Nassau, Bahamas but we actually stayed on Paradise Island at Atlantis. For those who have never been there, it is an awesome resort for families & kids. We had a blast & cannot wait to take Sadie back when she is older.

The flights were a little harder this time, but she still did fairly well. She's just a busy body these days & she likes to talk a lot, which we usually encourage, but not on an airplane full of other travelers! Also, we had connecting flights this time so it was a longer day in & out of airports & the schedule never really worked with bottles, so we had to keep the pacifier in her mouth so her ears would pop. Another adventure when traveling with a baby, 6 adults & 3 guys who like to golf, is a lot of luggage! Let's just say we did a lot of tipping because there was too much too handle!

Here we are ready to go right after landing in paradise.......

Maybe I should clarify - it was beautiful but it rained the entire time we were there & no, I am not exaggerating. The good news is that almost everything we did had something to do with water: beach, pool, lazy river, water slides, etc. So the rain didn't slow us down!

Here are a few pictures of the resort if you have never seen it. It looks huge & it is, but by the end of the week we had the place all mapped out. Plus they have shuttles that take you everywhere.

The whole resort had aquariums & lagoons full of sea life. Sadie loved looking at all of it!

Sadie also loved the water. Although she didn't spend as much time outside since it rained a lot. We got her a new float for the trip & she was a pro - as soon as we put her in it she started kicking her legs & splashing her hands! She made it around the lazy river twice in one trip!

Of course we all had to share our time with her, but as you can see she didn't mind :) She also had fun playing on the beach:

Having her bottles outside (by the way, did you notice she can hold her own bottle now?!)

And of course we had to shield her from the rain when it started pouring.....

The adults also had fun too - especially in the afternoons when Sadie was taking her nap - we ran around like big kids hitting up every water slide on the property! Bryan & I did a shallow water dolphin encounter with his Mom. Our dolphin was named Cosmo. I tried to get a picture of Sadie with the dolphin, but they wouldn't let us.

The one activity the rain did hamper was golf. All 3 guys went & apparently it was one of the best courses they have ever played. Right on the water with beautiful homes surrounding every hole. The guys didn't take any pictures the day they golfed, but we went back to the clubhouse so they guys could get a souvenir & I tried to snap a few shots. Just in case you were wondering, no, they didn't go golfing in their bathing suits & flip flops & Sadie didn't tag along :)

At night, we had some fabulous dinners. Two nights we went together all six of us & the other two nights Bryan & I went out by ourselves while the grandparents baby sat. On top of that, the grandparents even got to have Sadie over night. It was the first time we let Sadie spent the night with out us & we went the whole vacation without her being in our room. Even though we go out often without her, it felt like a big step to me since we hadn't gone a night with out her. Although it made it a little easier since she was just across the hall & we got to see her first thing in the morning!

Here are some pictures of Bryan & I enjoying our time alone. We went to some amazing restaurants, I went to the free movie theater & we both hit up the casino! To top it off, we even spotted a few celebrities which was the highlight of my trip!!

We also enjoyed a little family time together.....

And of course the grandparents got to spend a lot of time together with Miss Sadie Kate.....

Of course our last night there the sun finally came through for a short time & we got to enjoy the one & only sunset. It was beautiful & the grandparents were able to capture it with Sadie!

The hardest part of the whole trip was having to leave. It took us 3 1/2 hours to leave the resort, check in at the airport & get through Customs. Luckily our plane was delayed or we wouldn't have made it home. And I will admit that Sadie had the biggest temper tantrum I have ever seen in the airport while we were waiting in the Customs line. Poor girl - she was 2 hours past due on her bottle & we were scooting her around in her car seat & stroller in a dirty diaper while she was starving. We finally had to break down & give her bottle while she was sitting in her stroller in line. I can officially say that Bryan & I were totally embarrassed, but after that she did great all the way home. It's amazing what a little bit of water & formula can do!

Thank you Grammy, Grandpa, Mimi & Doc for going on vacation with us. We had a great time getting to hang out with all of you & we are glad Sadie got to spend some extra time with her grandparents. Also, thank you for baby sitting during those afternoon naps & overnight while Bryan & I enjoyed our time together. We look forward to many more trips together in the future!
