Today, Sadie & I tried something new - we attended our first mommy & me class at My Gym.
I have some friends who used to go to the classes there & they really enjoyed it. And we have even been to a birthday party there before, so I kind of knew what to expect. It's basically a gym with all sorts of fun play mats, trampolines, swings, toys & lots of kid music.
Looks fun, right? The class we went to advertised that it was for babies 6 weeks old - 6 months old, so I was really excited to meet other Moms with babies around the same age. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I knew right away when I walked in something was different - there were no car seats, no one had bibs on, burp cloths, pacifiers, etc. - you know, all the stuff I still have to haul around with Sadie. Instead there were about 10 other kids, all of whom could sit on their own, half of them were crawling around & the other half were walking. Needless to say they were all 8-12 months old. Poor Sadie was way behind! She had to sit in my lap & I had to hold her up the entire time. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed the class, but it was definitely geared for older children. Apparently, they don't have as many younger babies, so they let the older children come to this class as well. Would have been nice if they told me that on the phone before I came. At least they let me have an introductory class for free. It's definitely not worth paying the money for classes yet, but in a few months she will be ready.
I will leave you with one final picture that pretty much sums up our day:
I can't tell if she is happy, confused, over-stimulated or just plain tired. Poor thing - she had physical therapy this morning & then this class ran into nap time. Don't worry - she's sleeping like a champ now. It's amazing how good she sleeps when Mom keeps her busy!
