So apparently I haven't blogged enough about my pregnancy because people have pointed that out. I guess I try to keep everyone updated on Bryan so I forget about myself. Also, I tend to always be the picture taker so I don't have many pictures of me lately. We will try to do better before she comes...
As of today I am officially 25 weeks. I had a check-up on Tuesday & everything is going great! I have gained 15 pounds so far & my blood pressure has remained low. They had a hard time tracking her heart beat because she moves around so much. And she moved hard enough to actually move the machine! They finally clocked her heart beat at 159, which is still really strong.
I had to take the dreaded glucose test on Tuesday, which I have heard about way before I was pregnant from all my friends. You are supposed to drink an oral glucose which looks like an orange coke, but tastes like pure sugar. You have to drink it 1 hour before your appointment & you are supposed to drink it in 5 minutes. Luckily, I can stand the sugary taste - kind of tasted like kool-aide, but I hate orange flavor so it actually took me 7 minutes to drink it :(
I was up stairs drinking it while on the computer & Bryan heard me gagging so of course he had to run up here & snap a couple of pictures of me. Needless to say I have no make up on & he took them with him camera phone - so they are not very flattering but I promised I would post them:
The good news is that I do not have gestational diabetes!! But when they ran my blood work, they noticed that I was anemic (iron deficient), so they asked me to start taking an iron supplement once a day. I asked if there was anything I could do to help besides taking the pill & they basically told me that I needed to start eating more vegetables. For those who know me, I am not the healthiest person & don't exactly eat a lot of fruit or vegetables, so I guess I will stick to taking a pill once a day!
On a side note, Bryan had his 9th chemo treatment yesterday. He was a trooper as always & he only has 3 more to go! When we got there the chemo fairy had visited again & this time we found wash cloths hanging on his IV pole that match the bibs we got last time:
Our friend Josh came to visit us during his lunch break & his Mom came & spent the afternoon with us. We always enjoy the company because it is a nice distraction while Bryan is getting chemo.
Glad to hear the good news that the treatments are working. Yay!! Thanks for posting all the pics and the updates (on the pregnancy too!) We'll have to see one of you standing so we can see the belly better! ;-) Shaye- glad you made it through the dreaded glucose test.. and that the results were negative. GD is not exactly fun... esp. if you are trying to control it with diet and exercise. Sorry to hear about the anemia though. But thankfully, that's a fairly easy one to adjust. Keep the pics coming! Bryan- I was so excited to hear that the treatments are working! And that you're getting close to the end of the rounds. Also, you got some neat UT memorabilia.. and some really cute gifts for your little girl... what surprises! We are praying for the Lord's blessings to keep pouring down on you and Shaye and baby Dodson! We think of and pray for you guys often. Love, the Hayeses
