Tokyo - Part 3

Saturday morning, we woke up & headed back to Harajuku. I thought we would give the girls a break and do a little shopping:

I had read they had a Brandi Melville store that was quite popular, so the girls were excited to go check it out but oh my goodness, I had no idea how small it was & how crowded it would be:

I also had no idea that the entire store was one size fits all. I never understand how that works? But they both found something after waiting in line 30 minutes to try on:

You should have seen all of the men just hanging outside waiting - now that was comical!

We walked all through Harajuku shopping and then ended back up at Takeshita Street. Bryan & Sophie tried the famous tornado skewer (they are not gf so unfortunately, we didn't get to). 

Sadie wanted strawberry boba. I told you, strawberry was everywhere!

And then another fun find I found at home before we came was the Totti Cotton Candy! Of course we couldn't miss this:

This was actually my favorite part of Takeshita Street because Long, Longer, Longest, Strawberry Fetish & Totti Candy Factory were all here together:

Once we finished here, we jumped on the subway and headed to Asakusa. I read a lot about the Sensoji Temple before coming. I knew it was one of the largest & most popular Buddhist Temples:

As you can see, it was very crowded!

The girls were excited to contribute money so they could get a fortune:

Sophie got a good one for our family, but Sadie did not so this is where you hang the bad fortunes to send them back:

After we walked around the temple, we went back to Nakamise Street, which is right in front of the temple so shop at all of the markets. Again, it was very crowded, but the girls loved looking around and they found a booth they really liked where they got souvenirs for themselves and their friends:

We decided to spend our day in Asakusa because I had made reservations at the Sumo Dinner Club that night:

I had read about this several times before we came and booked it fairly early. It is definitely a tourist trap and the most expensive thing we did in Tokyo, but totally worth it! It was an all you can eat meal with a dinner performance:

It started with a geisha who came out and danced for us:

and then we moved into the sumo part of the evening! We had 2 guys and ours was Asanishiki, so that is who we cheered for all night:

They showed us how they stretch, how they warm up and then how they fight. Before I knew it, Bryan was being pulled into the ring and fighting with them:

The girls absolutely loved that!

Then they had 3 matches with each other:

One of those ended with the other guy throwing his opponent out of the ring, into the audience and on to Bryan again! I couldn't get my phone out fast enough to try and catch it in action:

You guys, not only did we learn a lot about the sumo culture in Japan, but we laughed so hard. It really was a fun night and worth every penny:

Afterwards we got to meet them all & take pictures with them:

Because it was Saturday night, this area was happening. Street performers, loud music and large crowds. And then we saw Don Quijote again - a different store in a different area, but just as big so of course we had to go in again and check it out (even though it seemed the exact same to me inside!) but the girls got dessert again:

It was a fun way to spend a Saturday night in Tokyo!
