For the past year, Sophie has been talking about wanting to get baptized, so Bryan & I have studied with her & been praying for her. Just like her sister, she really wanted to do it at her favorite place - Sky Ranch! I'm telling you, that camp & those counselors have been so impactful to our children, so thankfully they invited us back out this past weekend & let us spend some time together with our family & a group of her friends from church:
Of course we stopped at the Sky sign as soon as we got there to take pictures with everyone. As you can see, the Lord blessed us with phenomenal weather! Eventually we drove in & set up by the lake. Bryan started our time together before opening it up to everyone else & let me tell you, the emotions were high listening to everyone talk about our sweet Sophie:
Then it was time! Bryan baptized her in the lake at Sky Ranch - just like she had been praying about:
Afterwards there was a lot of celebration & pictures from all:
She is so blessed to have such a good group of friends is in her church community. Sadie's best friend came to celebrate with us also.
When we left Sky Ranch, we drove to Lindale to eat at the same place we took Sadie when she was baptized:
I couldn't help but laugh because when you take a group of girls to a restaurant, look at how many shirley temple's they ordered:
Some even surprised her with gifts. We gave her a new bible and she got a lot of accessories to go with it - bible tabs, highlighters, markers, bible cover, cross necklaces, etc.
To end our day, we had to make a pit stop on our road trip home:
We had a great day & we are so thankful that all of our family & friends could join us. And Sophie, we are so proud of the young woman you are becoming & this awesome decision you made to follow Christ. We love you!
