Every year for Labor Day weekend, our youth ministry has a student camp called ReNew. Sadie has never gotten to go because it is always a big soccer weekend kicking off the fall season. The entire weekend is for 7th - 12th grade, but they invite the 6th graders just for the day on Saturday & Sophie was so excited to go! We carpooled with a group of girls & I got a few pictures while they were there:
I didn't get any action shots, but I heard they went swimming in the lake, cliff diving, played volleyball & basketball & did a lot of it in the rain:
They were bummed to come home Saturday night but even more excited to return next year!
Meanwhile, Sadie was supposed to stay home for games on Saturday & Sunday morning, and we were going to take her Sunday afternoon to spend one night. However, I mentioned rain - we actually got a ton of rain on Saturday morning, enough to cancel all of her games for the weekend so she packed at the last minute & was able to get to camp by early Saturday afternoon. She got to stay until Monday & had a blast! Basically, everything Sophie did & so much more, including the banana boat on the lake:
They worshipped a lot, had a speaker for the weekend & were disconnected from everyday life. Neither of the girls took their phones, that's why I don't really have any pictures except for the few that parent chaperones sent me. I did see a picture with all of 8th grade & then a group of shot of all of the kids for the weekend:
It ended up being a lazy, relaxing weekend for Bryan & I without the girls & they both had a great time. I am so glad both of them had the opportunity to go & I hope it works out for next year as well!
