Rising 6th Grade Griffin Gators

Only 2 days of summer left & the past week has gradually picked up with back to school activities, especially for our newest Griffin Gator:

We went & got back to school haircuts last week & she cut 4 inches! She was so excited to get ready for Gator Camp, which is basically an orientation/walk the schedule for incoming 6th graders:

I was there to help sale spirit wear & represent PTA and Sadie got to be a Student Ambassador with a few friends. They helped walk the kids around the school:

They were both so excited to see their new schedules & see friends while they ran around the school. Afterwards, Sophie got invited to a Griffin Girls Back to School Social:

They had snacks, the moms visited & then they had tables set up for the girls to make & decorate their schedules for school along with a lip balm bar. It was so cute!

They each brought a wrapped notepad with a pen to do a gift exchange:

They played outside & then the moms surprised them with a few more activities to get them ready for middle school. The girls each wrote down a fear they had about going into 6th grade & after they talked about their fears, they burned them. So cute, right?! Then they all wrote down a wish, put it in a balloon & went outside to release them:

These girls have had parties all summer long & it is a mix of both of our elementary schools so I am so glad they have gotten to know each other before school started. I think it's going to be a great year for these lady gators:

On Friday they had another rising 6th grade party, but this time it was for all of the boys & girls at both schools. We kept this one simple outside with a pool party but we had a lot of kids show up from both schools & we had fun meeting new parents:

Thankfully this past weekend wasn't too busy so we tried to soak up summer as much as we could. Sleepovers, movies, swimming, staying up late & sleeping in - only 2 more days of summer left. I think we have all of their school supplies bought, backpacks packed, pantry stocked & first day outfits planned. Tomorrow they are getting their nails done & that should be it. Ready or not, Griffin here we come!
