This is the 5th year both of the girls have been together at camp, so Bryan & I have a week to sneak off just the two of us. Last year we went to the Northeast & visited Cape Cod while Bryan was on a work trip, but this year we snuck off to his happy place - Grand Cayman! I think was our 6th time visiting the island & we have always stayed at the same resort. We love the beach, the people & the familiarity of being there & visiting our favorite restaurants. I didn't take many pictures but here are a few from our get away.
We dropped the girls off on Sunday then we flew out Monday morning. We literally went straight to the beach, ordered chips & dip with a few tropical drinks & stayed until sunset:
We didn't even shower or go out that night. We ordered fried rice & sushi from our favorite Japanese restaurant at the hotel & grabbed it to go on the way up to our room. We had a very lazy night in watching Netflix & eating take out after the sunset. It was the best way to start our trip!
Then it was 4 days of the exact same thing - we worked out every morning, walked to brunch then spent our day at the beach. It literally never gets old walking out the hotel and seeing this view:
The water temperature was perfect & we had fantastic weather while we were there. We literally never made it to the pool because the beach was so perfect! Although since we always got down there later, we always got seats on the 2nd row, but I still wouldn't complain about our view:
Bryan had to work the first day or two but then he was able to relax & wind down:
I was on my device also, but it was for enjoyment & not work related:
We had a lot of tropical drinks & snacks every day - the chips & dips were amazing, popsicles, fresh pineapple, frozen grapes - I love it all!
We did cleanup & go to dinner every night (after we were lazy the first night!) and we went to a few of our favorite places & one new one, which we loved!
We discovered a gf/df chocolate mousse cake at our hotel that I loved & we may have stopped by the hotel bar a few nights to get it on our way back to our room.
Our final night there we stayed at the beach as long as we could to enjoy our last sunset. It never gets old watching the sun go down:
Just a boy in his happy place:
Goodnight until next time!
