When we came back from winter break, we had 2 days at school and then we had an early snow that gave us 2 more days off. It was a really short week, ha! Honestly, those 2 days the girls went back, I was slammed taking down the Christmas decorations, putting up our Christmas presents, doing 2 weeks' worth of laundry & going through 2 weeks' worth of mail, so it was busy getting back to life. When the snow days came, I was ready for some down time! Our entire Christmas break we were surrounded by people, so it was nice to have a few days at home, just the 4 of us. I cooked a lot, we slept a lot & we watch a lot of movies. It was my little slice of heaven! Don't get me wrong, the girls did go out & play, but I was quite happy inside by the fire:
They spent the entire first day outside. They played just the 2 of them at first, built a little snowman:
and then they headed out to find friends:
They ran around for hours outside; in fact I had no idea where they were! I felt bad at first I wasn't with them because I usually go out & play with them, but I think they liked the freedom of being on their own all day with their friends. Eventually they ended up back at our house by the fire to warm up & ready for a snack:
We had snow cone syrup, so they even went outside, caught fresh snow & made snow cones:
Then they took a snow break & gave each other manicures:
It was a fun day with their friends & it ended up being a nice, long, relaxing weekend for all of us. Another cold front blew in this week with below freezing temperatures but thank goodness the precipitation stayed south - we'll let Houston enjoy the snow this time!
