Life Lately - April

Things are getting busy around here friends! We only have 2 more weeks of school left & we are ready for summer! The girls have been busy with all of the extras that come along with the end of school. When Bryan & I were traveling, Sophie had field day:

I was so disappointed to miss because this was the first time in 7 years that I had not been there!

They also celebrated something new this year called GlowVation & based on all of the pictures & videos I have seen, it looked awesome:

At our spring carnival we won the silent auction for her to be principal for the day & she loved every minute of it:

She finished her last Wednesday night of GA's at church & before they finished, they had their annual derby car race. She went with a Dr. Pepper theme & it got 3rd place in overall design & 2nd place in racing for her grade:

She had fun at Top Golf one night with her Dad:

And she had a sleepover with me one night while Sadie was gone. Ice cream & late night movie for the win:

Switching gears, Sadie has been equally busy. The day before we left on vacation, she had her 6th grade field trip to Toyota Stadium & the Soccer Hall of Fame. It was probably one of the best field trips I have chaperoned! It was STEAM focused but really fun too:

I had no idea they still went on field trips in middle school but I was so glad to hang out with these 6th graders to see some of her old friends & meet some of her new ones.

Last week, I got to chaperone the band field trip. They went Friday morning to a local high school for a band competition:

Afterwards we went to PinStack for their end of the year party. They got to play games, bowl & eat pizza:

She got to attend her first girl's retreat at our church & had a blast with her girlfriends:

She went to dinner at the Sugar Factory in Dallas & had a slumber party with her group of besties for one of their birthdays:

Back on April 1st, she officially got invited to the Class of 2030 National Charity League, which I was probably more excited about. Ha! It is a mother-daughter philanthropy & they only invite girls to participate. They delivered cookies & a single yellow rose to our house:

Then we had our first meeting last week & They gave us yard signs & t-shirts. I am excited for this new adventure that we will do together all the way through high school:

While we were gone, Sadie had a pop up lemonade stand with her friends. Apparently they made $50!

Finally, she had her final band concert. It was their spring concert but it was also her last because unfortunately she has decided not to continue next year:

In fact, as soon as the concert was over, she changed clothes & was ready to leave. I didn't even get a picture of her dressed up! She had a nice dress on & clearly she still has her nice shoes on because she didn't have her cleats yet. Oh Sadie!

Finally, I already did several blogs about Bryan & I, but before we left town, we did have a date night with friends at my favorite restaurant in Dallas. We always have a great time with these 2 couples:

Whew - it was a busy month & I was only here for half of it! Now if we can just make it through the next 2 weeks,...... summer here we come!
