Girl Scout Polar Plunge

It may be a little warmer than normal, but it's still winter so we took a few of our daisy girl scouts to their annual polar plunge:

I kept teasing Sophie all day that we were going swimming outside in the ice with polar bears & I think she half way believed me! To be honest, the only thing polar about our plunge is that we had to wait for a few minutes outside until the doors opened for the natatorium! Once inside, these girls stripped down & were ready to jump in:

Our girl scout service unit rented the facility after hours so we had the place to ourselves! Well, only half of our troop could come but we shared it with other troops as well. In fact, we even saw some of Sadie's friends:

Then they took off! There were 3 of us moms & we had a hard time keeping up with the girls because they were having so much fun running back & forth between the lazy river, the slide, the diving board, etc. Thank goodness all of them were good swimmers! We actually wore our bathing suits in case we had to get in but they were too busy for us so we got to enjoy visiting with the other moms. But these girls had a blast & I am so glad they got to do something special together:
