American Girl

The girls got American Girl gift cards for their birthday & they have been dying to spend them. I didn't want to take them over the holidays because I knew it would be busy & I figured their inventory might be low after Christmas, so we waited & took them this week. Sadie had a school holiday on Monday & Bryan had the day off from work so it was the perfect time to sneak down there. We went to the bistro & had lunch:

and both of the girls brought their doll. Sadie even brought her new puppy:

We usually go at least once a year to the café to eat but most of the time it is just the girls so they were excited to have Bryan join us. We were excited when they didn't finish their ice cream sundaes & we got to eat them:

After lunch, we spent some time downstairs shopping & playing. Sophie loves all of her dolls & plays with everything at home. I believe she has the entire Bitty Baby collection & she has a few pieces from the Wellie Wisher collection. Sadie has items from the Truly Me collection & unfortunately, she doesn't play with them at home as much as Sophie does, but her face lights up every time we come to the store. They had fun shopping & both got to pick up a new item with their birthday gift cards:

Sophie got a pet rabbit with carrots & a rabbit house for Starla, her Wellie Wisher. A random choice, I know, but she was so excited! Sadie got a school desk for her doll & that was the perfect choice for her. She may not play with dolls often, but she plays school every single day. It was a fun day together & I'm glad they got something new to play with at home since we have been hibernating most of the month!
