Yesterday was Sophie's birthday & even though we had her party last weekend, we still had a fun day celebrating her! Sadie actually got invited to a birthday party for a friend yesterday morning, so I took her to that while Bryan stayed home with Sophie. They slept in, watched cartoons & then he took her to brunch. Once we all met up again, Sophie wanted to open presents:
Just like Sadie's birthday, our elf Ellie flew in in her birthday cupcake outfit & surprised the girls by sitting by her presents. Sophie got her present from us last weekend (they both got light up scooters) but she had a few gifts from family & she was so excited to open them:
Sadie got her an alarm clock just like the one that she has & Sophie was so excited! She thinks that is officially a big girl thing:
Let me tell you, I LOVE this thing! I should be the official spoke person for this alarm clock because I tell everyone about it :)
I was trying to make Sophie's day special since we already had her party, so I planned a little spa day for the girls. Sophie has never had her hair cut & Sadie has only had one, so I thought that would be the perfect surprise. We went to a local kids salon around the corner & they were so excited. Here is a picture of Sophie before:
Next, they washed both of their hair:
and then they cut & styled both of their hair:
Sadie got a headband braid wrapped around the top & Sophie got a simple braid on the side:
Then it was time for the fun part of the pampering! The girls got their nails painted & they got glitter tattoo hearts & stars on their face:
They also came home with balloons, a lollipop & a plastic ring. These girls were spoiled but they had so much fun & looked so cute together:
After their spa appointment, we met Bryan for dinner. Sophie loves rice & beans so she wanted to go to the same place that we took Sadie for her birthday dinner, Salsa. They sang & brought her a birthday sopapilla, which she loved, but we couldn't help but laugh because the sombrero was so big it kept falling off her & she couldn't hold her head up:
Our final surprise of the night was taking them to the movies. The girls have been wanting to see Moana & we loved it! It's kind of the perfect combination of the beach & a princess so it fits our family perfectly:
We had a great day together & overall, it's been a fun month celebrating both of their birthdays! I still cannot believe that we have a 3 & 5 year old but we are so thankful that they are ours!
