We had a busy Halloween but the girls loved every moment! Sadie had gymnastics that morning & they got to wear their costumes again, so this time Sadie was Belle & Sophie was Cinderella. When we came home from gymnastics, we baked Halloween cookies:
They were monster eyeball cookies & the girls really got into decorating them. Afterwards, we carved pumpkins:
Bryan made them take their dresses off so they wouldn't get pumpkin mess all over them.
Thankfully they both took awesome naps since I knew we would stay out late but they woke up ready to go trick or treating:
Sadie fell in love with Jasmine when we first went to Disney World last fall & then got the movie for Christmas but she never had the costume so has been asking for months if she could be her for Halloween. Sophie has always loved Tinkerbell & Sadie was never really into it, so surprisingly they both got new outfits for Halloween even though I felt like we already had every princess costume there was! We actually used Tinkerbell as a bribing tool to get Sophie to potty train & thank goodness it worked :)
We met with our neighbor Hadley for their annual picture:
She was a peacock & her costume was beautiful! Jessica makes her costumes every year & this year she got creative.
Next we walked one street over to our annual block party & met up with some more friends:
Our group was a lot smaller this year because the kids are getting older & several of them had volleyball & football games since it was a Monday night. We ate pizza, had snacks & visited until the kids started getting antsy so we tried to take the group picture before everyone started heading out:
So much smaller than last year. In fact, the entire night felt a little slower than last year, probably because last year it was on a Saturday night. Sadie ran off with several of the older girls so she actually trick or treated for an hour or so without us :( Don't worry, there were some moms with them but I still can't believe she is too cool for us already! Sweet Sophie trick or treated with Daddy all night while I passed out candy & visited with the neighbors:
Our sweet neighbor, Joy, always surprises the girls with special Halloween goodie bags. And another neighbor gave Sophie a beanie baby ghost which she loved! Eventually Sadie came home & met up with the rest of us & then KJ & Kenzie came over so the 4 of them stopped by a few houses together:
I had my lawn chair set up out front & our pumpkin was lit for everyone to see:
Sadie was so proud of it! Unfortunately, since it was a slow night, we didn't have as many trick or treaters as we have in years past, so I had left over candy :( And the girls got a ton -way more than we need:
I don't think this picture does it justice because they are huge bowls, but I dumped both of their bags into bowls & don't tell Sadie, but I think Sophie got the most!
It was another great night & like I always say, we are blessed to have such great friends & neighbors near by because it always makes the holiday more fun with them! Until next year.....
