Frisco Swim School

Last week was really busy & I just couldn't seem to keep up. For some reason, we had several new things start back up for fall so we are officially back on schedule. I don't know why some things didn't start back until late September but I am so glad we are back in the swing of things!

First on that list, swimming lessons:

The girls have gone to Emler Swim School since they were infants but I realized last spring that I was ready for a change. They are a great school & Sadie has done phenomenal there, but I feel like she has outgrown that place. She really loves to swim & she's pretty good, so I wanted to put her some where she could be challenged more. Honestly, she doesn't really need swimming lessons anymore but she loves it so much that I am trying to determine if she would want to do swim team. I am kind of hoping this will be our last year of swimming lessons unless she decided to do it competitively. We won't have the time (nor do I want to continue spending the money!) when she starts kindergarten. But if she wants to do swim team & drop something else, than we will move forward.

Years ago I heard about a woman, Mrs. Pat, who taught swimming lessons out of her back yard close to our house. She used to coach swimming in FISD & has a great reputation. Plus she is always booked because everyone loves swimming with her. She eventually moved, bought a bigger piece of land & built her own indoor pool in her back yard. Pretty awesome, right?! Her place is called Frisco Swim School & that's where the girls are now going. We had our first lesson last week with our friends KJ & Kenzie:

They have been at Emler also & since the kids are friends & are on the same level, we decided to put them in class together. We couldn't have chosen a better place - the kids have class at the same time & they are the only 4 in the pool! It is not crowded, there are no distractions & it is a nice facility. The big girls are swimming with Mrs. Shannon:

And I can tell already they are going to learn so much more here! Sadie absolutely loved her first lesson & of course it helps that she gets to swim with one of her best friends:

For the most part, Sophie enjoyed it. She loves the water but doesn't particularly like to go underneath the water!

Her & KJ are swimming with Mrs. Pat, who is the owner. Sophie definitely needs the personal attention & needs to be challenged because she is not swimming at the level I would like to see yet:

I don't expect her to love swimming as much as Sadie or want to be on swim team, but I would like to feel confident that she can take care of herself should she fall in the pool, since we have one in our back yard.

Not only is it a nice, quiet swim center, but it also has a slide so that was like icing on the cake:

Fall lessons run once a week until Thanksgiving so I can't wait to see how much they improve over the next couple of months!
