In case you were wondering where we have been, we went on a Maddux Family Vacation & I cannot wait to blog about it! Since my sister has a nice camera, I let her take all the pictures & boy did she take a lot - 257 to be exact! I have spent the last 2 days going through them :) Needless to say we will both be blogging all week about our fabulous trip!
But before that, let's talk about July 4th. We came home Friday night so we have been home all weekend. Our celebrations started on Sunday at church:
& continued until Monday. It was actually a relaxing weekend after being gone all week with not much going on (except for unpacking & laundry) until yesterday. We invited some friends over from church for a cookout & pool party:
All of the kids looked so cute in their red, white & blue. The girls even had their patriotic bathing suits on:
I always buy their suits at The Gap at the end of the season when they are on sale so usually they don't wear such small bikini tops. It obviously didn't bother this little diva but I prefer her to wear a little more these days!
After we swam, ate and then swam & ate again since the fireworks didn't start until 10:00. We surprised the kids with glow bracelets, necklaces & small firecrackers. Then we headed over to our community pool where you could see the fireworks:
First of all, that picture with Sophie & Carter cracks me up! She became really obsessed with Kason on vacation so I think Carter replaced him now that he is not around :) The girls loved staying up late, watching the fireworks & getting to see more friends & neighbors at the block party. At first they didn't really understand what July 4th meant, but after we told them it was America's birthday, they had fun celebrating all weekend!
