Punta Cana by Day

The weather was absolutely perfect while we were there. During the day, we could lay out & not break a sweat but the water felt great when we got in. And we never had to worry about a sweater or light jacket in the mornings or at night because the temperatures were perfect. I say mornings because I was really the only one up that early :) Even though we stayed up late, I never slept past 6:30, so I got up & hit the gym or went for a run on the beach. Some of the girls joined me for sunrise yoga by the pool one morning:

Natalie was actually with us but she kept sneaking & taking pictures during class & I didn't even know! The entertainment team also had a lot of activities scheduled throughout the day so we enjoyed participating in some of those as well. They had a pool aerobics class every morning, which was actually a lot of fun! They even had a foam party one afternoon:

Can you spot us in the first picture?! They had this crazy foam gun that kind of looked like a cannon shooting bubbles - the girls would love it if I had one for our pool!

We also walked the beach & tried to visit the dolphins, but they were closed for the day:

Deb wanted to go parasailing since she had never been before, so Sarah & I joined her. We took a boat from shore that drove us to another boat farther out in the water:

The boat ride itself was a crazy adventure! Finally we got hooked up & they let us fly:

We were afraid to take our cameras up there so the assistant on the boat took pictures of us & then our friends on the beach snapped a picture when we flew by:

If you have never been parasailing before, it is actually pretty calming. They take you up & bring you down pretty slow so it's not scary at all but the view is worth every minute.

We spent some time at the pool:

But most of the time at the beach:

And most of the time, somebody had a drink in their hand:

Don't let the pictures fool you - it looks like we did a lot of reading, but not as much as I had planned on. We spent most of the time talking! I mostly read a few magazines that were easy reads while people were chatting, but I never started my book until the end of the trip which was mostly read on the airplane & I still haven't finished it!

Our days were perfect - no schedule, no reservations, no carpool. We could eat anytime we wanted & not have to worry about feeding anyone else. I only wish I knew how to sleep in - even without children I can't stay in bed!
