Our First Family Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was spent with Bryan's family. His parents came over on Wednesday & watched the girls while we went Christmas shopping. This is quickly becoming a favorite holiday tradition of mine! The grandparents get to spend extra time with the girls while we get our shopping done. Yes, done. Granted, I already had most of it bought but I finished things up with Bryan. They spent the night because we got up early on Thanksgiving morning to do the turkey trot.

After the race, we met with Robert's family for thanksgiving lunch & then we met with Sherry's family for Thanksgiving dinner. In case you are wondering, yes, we ate 2 Thanksgiving meals & they were both delicious! Then we spent the rest of the weekend at his parent's house since it was our holiday with them. Unfortunately, Bryan's brother Tim & his family couldn't make it this year because they are expecting a little girl in December & we can't wait to meet her! By the way, can you believe the Dodson family will have 3 girls with December birthdays?!

It was an extra special Thanksgiving for me because it was our first time celebrating with Sophie:

It was kind of sad because I realized that it was her last "first" holiday. Meaning, she has now officially celebrated every holiday with us:

I am beyond blessed to have these 2 turkeys in my life & I am even more thankful that I get to share them with my best friend:

2014 has truly been a year to be thankful!
