Butterfly Kisses

For the past couple of months, I have been working on the decor committee for our annual mother/daughter tea. It is the biggest fundraiser that the Frisco Women's League puts on & this year our beneficiary was Sci-Tech Discovery Center. We have been meeting for months & planning behind the scene & this past weekend was finally event time! I worked from 2:00 on Friday afternoon to 11:30 that night, but we transformed the ballroom into a butterfly garden & I have to admit that we did a pretty good job!

My friend Jamie put the arch together & I think it turned our really pretty! It was one of the first things you saw when you walked in.

Most of the decor (flowers, moss structures, arches, etc.) were donated from Stonebriar Mall. They were used as part of there Easter display - we just removed the Easter eggs & added butterflies!

The stage was simple because we had to leave room for the performers - the cutest little cheerleaders & dancers in Frisco! Plus there was a fashion show so we had to leave the cat walk empty :)

The centerpieces were simple because we had to leave room for the tiered food presentation for the tea - mini sandwiches, sconces, fruit, etc.

We also had a

We had to raise as much money as possible for Sci-Tech!

We even had a few local celebrities stop by:

But the most popular attraction was the

The girls flocked to the table as soon as they saw it & had fun filling their party bags. I might have enjoyed sneaking a few pieces as well!

Saturday was a long day as well because we had 2 teas & I worked from 8:30 - 5:30. I had a surprise around lunchtime when Bryan brought Sadie by to visit.

She spent the weekend with her Dad & I hear they had a good time eating & running around town. I didn't mind working because I am trying to put in the time while Sadie is too young to attend because when she is older, we will be decked out in our Sunday best with matching hats!

My favorite part of the day was getting to see everyone dressed up. There were some pretty neat hats! Some girls created their own butterfly hats & I was impressed! I really enjoyed seeing some of our friends including the Ruf family:

and the Bryan family:

These girls were too cute!

I also saw the Clark girls at the afternoon tea:

Daniela even stayed afterward & helped us tear everything down - thanks Daniela!

The tea was definitely a success & I can't wait to hear how much money we raised for Sci-Tech. It was delightful to see all of the women enjoying themselves & I am grateful that I got to help be a part of such a wonderful event. I look forward to attending with the ladies in my life in the years to come!
