We did ring in the New Year with friends & it was a fun night out. We decided to hire babysitters for the kiddos while the adults had nice conversation & good food without any distractions. And we didn't eat until they were already in bed - just like the old days! We had an amazing meal at one of my favorite local steakhouses. We were joined by Jamie, her sister & both of their husbands:

After dinner we went back to our house to celebrate. We counted down until midnight & shared a bottle of champagne that we brought back from Napa.
All in all, it was a great night! It definitely wasn't the craziest New Year's Eve we have ever celebrated nor the lamest, but it was just perfect for the stage of life we are at right now. I think every couple needs a fun night out with friends without their kids, but not too fun, or it's not any fun the day after when your kids are back at home!
I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a great year & I can't wait to see what's ahead!
