Sadie's First Halloween

Bryan & I are fortunate that we live in an awesome neighborhood that really celebrates Halloween. It starts early in the month when most of the houses decorate outside & I mean they seriously decorate! There are orange lights everywhere, fog machines, cemetaries, blow up cats & ghosts - a whole lot of fun! But this year was even more special......

Halloween night kicks off with a block party. Nothing like pizza & lots of baked goodies to get you in the mood! We probably had about 25 kids at our block party & they took a huge group picture, but Sadie had just woken up from her nap & wasn't quite ready to have fun yet :( After a few strolls down the street, she warmed up.

In case you can't figure out what she is, she is a cupcake! After the block party, we took a few family photos:

Before we made our way out to trick or treat, we had our first visitor come by, a little black cat named Hadley:

She lives across the street & loves to play with "Baby Sadie". After she trick or treated at our house, we took Sadie to her first house - Hadley's, across the street!

By the way, isn't her treat bag adorable?! That was a Halloween gift from her Mimi & Doc - thanks guys! After she had a little practice, we hit up a few more houses:

She also got to practice her walking skills:

And she ran into a few friends along the way:

To tell you the truth, I am not sure who had more fun last night - Sadie or her Daddy:

And the icing on the cupcake is all the action shots I got while we were passing out candy. This girl had so much fun that she stayed outside with us until 8:30 & didn't go to bed until 9:00. Talk about party animal!

Don't worry - it may look like she is eating candy, but she never broke the wrapper :) I am still waiting for her to have sweets. Maybe at her 1st birthday! Eventually she got bored with the candy & she discovered the flowers:

As you can see we are just a little bit proud of our cupcake! I just can't stop taking pictures because she makes us smile. I have a feeling this is just the beginning to a wonderful holiday season to come.
