Have you noticed anything new about Sadie in my last couple of posts? She is getting a reprieve from her Doc-Band! I think she is so adorable without her helmet on & I love her wispy blonde hair. Although I am still learning how to fix it, because that's one thing I don't have to do with the helmet on!
Before Thanksgiving we took Sadie to get 2 different opinions on her head. She has worn her first Doc-Band for 4 1/2 months & she had outgrown it. So we were trying to decide if she was going to move forward with another band or if we were finished with the process. Unfortunately, both opinions thought we should do another band. We have definitely seen improvement, but there are a few target areas that I think we can correct further if she wears it longer. Of course only 10% of patients have to wear a 2nd band - she just happened to be part of that lonely statistic.
Earlier this week we went back to Cranial Technologies to have her head re-scanned, measured, photographed, etc. so they could build her a new band.
It was a little harder this time around because she is more of a wiggly person these days & she does not like to be restrained. But her Dad came along & that helped :)
It takes about 2 weeks for the Doc-Band to be custom made, so she gets to go helmet free until then! I just hope she doesn't get spoiled without it & tries to fight it when she goes back to wearing it full time........
