Fall Cheerleading with the Cowboys

Sophie's cheer squad has been practicing for the past month, but they finally had their first game this past weekend! Not only did they have FFL camp, but they also had Cowboy camp & they have been practicing weekly. They still practice at our elementary school, so the girls were really excited to see the school secretary when she came out to say hi to them:

and most of these girls want to try out for school cheer in the fall so they are spending an extra 30 minutes stretching & working on their jumps:

Unfortunately, we had a big storm Friday night so all of the fields in Frisco closed on Saturday, but FFL had a backup plan & moved all of their games to the high schools, which was even more fun! Plus, we saw a lot of friends there:

The weather was fantastic for early September! The storm brought a cool front even though it was bright & sunny out there:

They rocked their halftime show. This may be the first year they had it 100% ready to perform before the first game & I didn't really see any mistakes:

They are really stunting this year too. They have practiced a lot & have learned how to do cradles & lift to an extension. I am really proud of them for taking it so seriously when it comes to safety in stunting:

The Cowboys won big time & after the game they always meet with the football coach for a huddle with the boys. He always announces the player of the game & our coach picks a cheerleader of the game & surprisingly, Sophie won the first spirit stick of the season!

She has worked hard on cheering this summer, so we were so proud of her:

My parents came to visit this weekend, so they got to see her in action also:

I think it's going to be a really fun season for this group of girls, especially since it will be their last one together:
