After traveling for a few weeks, it felt great to be home for the July 4th holiday! We went to church that morning & then headed to a neighbor's house that afternoon for a popsicle party:
Our neighbor's church cancelled their service & encouraged their members to have pop up popsicle parties to encourage gathering with friends & neighbors. It was such a great idea! They had an ice chest full of popsicles, water bottles & tattoos. The kids had a blast!
They had other families stop by from the neighborhood but this group right here is just our street. And this is only a few of us:
We have an awesome street with lots of families with kids around the same age. Thank you Brown family for hosting such a fun party!
Later that afternoon/evening, we had friends over to celebrate the 4th. We cooked out, swam & then we did a few fireworks at the house:
Eventually we walked over to our neighborhood pool & park to watch the city's fireworks:
It ended up being an awesome weekend! It wasn't too hot considering it is July already. We spent most of the weekend swimming, cooking out & celebrating with friends. In fact, this picture pretty much sums it up:
Happy Birthday America!
