Call it a Christmas miracle, but after our 3rd quarantine at home, Sophie's 7th day was Christmas Eve, she had no symptoms & she tested negative so we finally got to break out of the house again to celebrate with family! We went to Bryan's parents' house & spent the day, however, we were still a little cautious so we tried to socially separate just to be careful. Basically, we hung out on 1 side of the house while they stayed on the other:
We even watched a Christmas movie - socially distant! After lunch, we opened presents:
Sadie got rollerblades & she was so excited she couldn't wait to try them out:
Later that evening we headed to Nanny's house for the Dodson Christmas Eve party. I will be the first to admit I was really hesitant, not that Sophie had recently been exposed again, but being in a group that big inside, so we compromised & stayed in the garage. Ha! I guess being outside was better than not being around at all! They set up a table for us out there to eat & most everyone took turns coming outside to talk to us:
After dinner they all gathered around the tree to open presents so we snuck inside but we sat in the entrance hallway by the front door. I didn't take many pictures except for this one of Sophie:
Can you see everyone in the living room? And then there was us.... hanging out by ourselves! This picture cracked me up because this was the first year the girls didn't get presents - all of the extended family gave them cards with money like the rest of the older kids or the adults. They loved all of it just as much! They think they are going to go spend it but little do they know it is going straight to their savings account!
We finally got home around 10:00, just in time to feed the reindeer outside:
Followed by putting out their cookies & milk for Santa:
It was a fun day, all things considered & these sweet girls went straight to bed because they couldn't wait for Christmas morning:
