Shooting Stars, 2nd Grade, Winter 2020

It's been a fun season, but winter basketball ended this past weekend. Last weekend we were a little disappointed because we had a game on Super Bowl Sunday & the other team didn't show up that afternoon. So, we scrimmaged with the girls who were there & we let the siblings jump in. It was hilarious watching the little sisters trying to play defense against their older sisters!

We also took team pictures because a few of the girls couldn't be there for our final game:

Fast forward to this past weekend & we had an early game Saturday morning. We knew a few girls would be gone, but then a few were out sick so we were down to 6 girls but these 6 showed up ready to play. Especially Sadie. She was on fire!

The girls have lost every game this season. Long story, but we lost half our team, had to recruit new players who had never played before & since we are existing team who has been pretty good in the past, they had us in the highest & toughest division mostly playing club teams. So when we won our final game, that was a big deal! Not only did we win, but we won by 1 point & guess who shot the winning free throw?!

These girls did amazing & we were so proud of them!!!

It was a fun season but Sadie enjoyed it even more because it was the first season her BFF joined our team:

It really is fun watching them play because they are both so competitive & play really well together. They even had their own communication going on during the game that was fun to watch!

Afterwards, Sophie had her final game & I will do a separate post about that but of course I had to get a picture with the girls & their Dad since he coaches both of their teams:

It was a fun season & I am so proud of Bryan sacrificing his time to coach both of the girls. I know they love every minute of it! Personally I am going to miss basketball, first of all because I love the sport, but also because it is inside! Ready or not, spring soccer is upon us.
