After the cheer clinic, the girls got to cheer at the Wakeland JV football game last Thursday night:
Usually they do this later in October when it's better football weather but this year it was hot. That didn't stop these girls - they kept on cheering! Pre-k & kindergarten cheered during the 1st quarter & Sophie had a blast! She kept going to the front & showing off her moves, especially her high kick! And she loved the stunts:
She was one of the first to go up & she wouldn't hold a pose because she kept waving to us :) Then we noticed she kept going up & up - she was working the system & going from cheerleader to cheerleader asking to be put up. She was probably put up more than anyone else! I stopped taking pictures but one of our new friends sent me some cute ones:
She clearly loves the spotlight!
2nd quarter came & the older girls got to cheer. Sadie stood in the back & finally got to go up once:
She wasn't as sneaky as Sophie! She actually spent more of her time playing with her friends & tumbling on the side. Literally, I looked down & she was doing handstands, cart wheels, walk overs, etc:
At halftime, they took turns walking out on the middle of the field & they got to do a cheer & then they all performed the school song together:
Surprisingly that is just the kindergarten girls - there were so many of them!
The girls had so much fun & even though they only cheered half the game, they weren't ready to leave. They had fun running around with their friends afterwards:
This has been a fun tradition & I'm curious to see how many more years we have left with these 2?!
