For the past couple of months my sister has been wanting to meet in Waco so we could visit Magnolia, so I knew it would be perfect timing to meet since I was headed down South to College Station. The girls & I drove down on Friday morning & met my parents & my sister in Waco. Thank you Dad for watching the girls so we could spend our own day together without children!
To be honest, I was a little disappointed how little there was to do & see at Magnolia:
Obviously I had not done my research so I didn't know what to expect. We got to see the Silos, but that was about it:
They have a huge store, so we browsed through that. We walked around the property & my favorite part was Joanna's garden:
Her flowers were beautiful, especially for the heat of summer & end of July:
My sister & parents met earlier & had breakfast at Magnolia Table but we couldn't get there that early. Thankfully I have already eaten there but after checking out all the food trucks at the silos, I wanted to eat there again so I ordered food from their truck. I love her chicken salad!
My favorite part was visiting the bakery. Everything in there looked & smelled amazing but she is known for her cupcakes:
Of course I had to buy a few things so we could sample it all :)
I got a cookie, a cinnamon roll & an oatmeal cream pie along with my cupcakes. I bought the cinnamon roll for Bryan because those are his favorite:
But my personal favorite was the oatmeal cream pie. I don't even know if that's what is was called but it was delicious!
After our time at Magnolia, my sister scouted at the stores close by & we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. I might have had a little too much fun shopping with the 2 of them if you look at my receipts! But seriously, we had a great afternoon together & I'm just glad I got to spend some extra time with both of them :)
