Disney on Ice, 2018

The girls got an extra surprise in their Easter basket this year - tickets to Disney on Ice! We have been twice before & it is a similar show to what we saw last time, but this time Moana was added to the performance. And it couldn't have come at a better time because we had another cold front blow through this weekend. Friday night while we were at soccer practice, the tornado sirens started going off & a huge storm rolled through so we had to leave in a hurry. After a big storm & a 40 degree drop in temperature, all of our soccer games were cancelled the next day. Of course. I don't know if we will ever make it through this season. So it never got out of the 30's on Saturday (which is rare in April) but that's ok because we had to bundle up for the show anyway:

I felt kind of bad because there were a ton of girls dressed up in their princess gowns but it was too cold so we dressed comfy & we let them bring a couple of props instead:

In case you can't tell, Sadie is rocking her Elsa hat with the long blonde ponytail braid while Sophie has on her Minnie ears. And since we have done this a few times, we brought up their light up wands from last time so we didn't get asked a million times to buy one of the over priced ones there. At intermission, Sadie had fun dressing up Bryan:

That's what happens when you are a dad to girls :)

We saw 5 princess stories come to life on ice. The first act was Beauty & The Beast, Cinderella & Rapunzel:

Most of these performances were exactly as I remembered before but were still fun to watch. Especially Rapunzel & the high flying acrobatic moves on her long golden hair. Next up Frozen, where of course we all love Olaf, Kristoff, Elsa & Anna:

You can probably tell, we had pretty good seats. We were at the bottom in the corner & there happened to be a little stage where they would always come & take a break from the ice. I loved watching Sophie throughout the show because she was mesmerized:

I know that picture doesn't do it justice, but honestly, I kept thinking that 4 is such a magical age. I remember Sadie when we went to Disney World at 4 & it was her favorite. 4 is definitely the magical age for both of our girls & I have loved experiencing the magic with them.

Speaking of magic, my absolute favorite part of the show was the final performance with Moana:

I think I even got teary eyed during one of her songs! I love the music & I loved that it is something we haven't seen much yet since she hasn't really been introduced at Disney. Even Maui did a great job!

Can you see him & all of his wild hair & tattoos back there?! This was in the final song of the evening when everyone came out, even these 2:

It ended up being a perfect day to surprise the girls since soccer was cancelled & it was cold outside. We had a fun family day & I am so thankful we were able to do something that they enjoy. I keep telling myself that this phase will be over before we know it, so I am trying to enjoy it while I can:
